All clergy and interested lay leaders are invited to attend a webinar on Saturday, August 8 at 10:30 am – 11:30 am on Mission and Outreach in Today’s Changing World.
2020 has brought change to the church and to the world at warp speed. In March we quickly moved from in-person to online worship. We organized phone trees and call lists, we have made sure our communities are cared for. And it was good! But now what? How will the church shift with the ever-changing tides? Let’s talk about how to move from in-reach to outreach, how to use small groups to strengthen your community and how to continue to discern God’s mission for your parish. Since there will be no return to “normal” for at least several months, how can we see this interim time not only as a challenge but as an opportunity in responding to the imperative of mission?
A little bit about our presenter:
Mary C. Frances pastored three congregations in the Chicagoland area before serving as the Associate Program Director for New Congregations for the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America). She has worked extensively with new and renewing congregations, helping them start something from scratch or make changes to ensure success. She has been coaching since 2005 and is certified through the International Coach Federation, the recognized Gold Standard for life-and-work coaches. Mary consults with congregations and judicatories around the country.
There is a modest registration fee of $10 per individual and $25 per Eucharistic Community to help offset the presenter fee. If the fee is a significant hindrance to attendance, scholarships are available. Please email Communications Coordinator, Hannah Dallman with your scholarship request, which should include your full name and Eucharistic Community as well as a brief explanation of your request.
