On January 31, 2016, The Rev. Christopher L. Ashmore celebrated The Holy Eucharist for the final time as Rector of Trinity Church (Jacksonville). After the service, the Parish held a reception for him, presented him with a gift, and unveiled his portrait. It will join the portraits of other long-term Rectors in the hallway.
Father Kip served faithfully and well as twenty-eighth Rector and Chief Celebrant of Trinity Church for eighteen years, faithfully and diligently proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He was an engaging and thought-provoking teacher, both as a leader of scriptural study and discussion, and as an effective presenter of religious and theological topics. Also, during his tenure, he oversaw significant reconstruction and upgrading of the parish sanctuary and parish hall which will help carry the parish facilities forward into the future.
Trinity Church expresses its deep and abiding appreciation to him for his faithfulness, leadership, guidance, and work here which has helped carry this parish into its one hundred and eighty-fourth year.
Terry Greer from the old Church of the Holy Spirit is SA passed away March 8, 2018. I’d like to ask Kip about a Hymn but I would need to this AM.
Years ago, in the 70’s, I met and spent time with a young man named, Kip Ashmore. I never did catch his first name. I lost touch with him but knee he was ministry bound. I wad wondering if your former pastor was the man I knew. Would it be possible for you to provide me an email address that I might make an attempt to touch base with Lip to see if he is the sane person I knew years ago.
Thank you.
