In a new step in community outreach partnership, Emmanuel Champaign has concluded a below-market lease for the north wing of their building, formerly the rectory but completely redone as program space after their 2018 fire, with the C-U Trauma and Resilience Initiative. CU-TRI is a key player int he Champaign Gun Violence Reduction Blueprint and will use Emmanuel’s space to work with victims of violence and their families, as well as to train providers in trauma-informed care.

We wish congratulation and many blessings to Mo. Beth Maynard and Mark Dirksen on the next part of their journey. Mother Beth announced her retirement to the community at Emmanuel, Champaign recently. Her last day will be All Saints Sunday, November 6. Mark Dirksen, who served us faithfully as Interim Diocesan Administrator, will also be retiring this fall.

Please continue to hold the campers, clergy, and staff at camp in your prayers as they end their week together and travel home.

You show that you are a letter of Christ…written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
