In the deep midwinter, the Episcopal Diocese of Springfield’s Cursillo Community has planned an 18 Hour Retreat weekend to be held on February 1 & 2, 2019 at St. Michael’s in O’Fallon, IL. It is an opportunity for Cursillistas to gather and shake off the doldrums of the post-Christmas season.
On Friday, February 1, participants will hear short talks given by members of the Community, followed by small group discussions and join in some singing. The evening will end with Compline.
Groundhog Day (Saturday, Febraury 2) will commence with Holy Eucharist followed by light breakfast type snacks. To rev the Cursillistas up, music will be sung, and two more talks will be presented by members of the Community. The participants will be given the opportunity to discuss the talks in small groups and will participate in reunion groups. The day will conclude with lunch, and news of the upcoming Cursillo weekend in late August. Cursillistas are asked to consider possible candidates for the weekend and willingness to serve over that time.
Any Cursillistas travelling from a distance will be provided a place to stay with one of the Cursillistas who lives nearby.
