101st Anniversary of its Reuter Pipe Organ and Trinity in Mattoon

Trinity Episcopal Church, 22nd and Western Ave., Mattoon, will celebrate the 101st Anniversary of its Reuter Pipe Organ with an organ recital.  The recital will be held on Sunday, November 18 at 3:00 p.m. with Linda Buzard at the organ.  This organ was the first instrument to be built by the Reuter Organ Company.  It was first heard at Trinity Church on Sunday, November 18, 1917.  The factory was located in Trenton, IL. and the organ was delivered by train.  A reception will follow in the Undercroft of the church.  The rector is Father Jeff Kozuszek and co-organists are Jan Daily Stephens and Rev. Allen Webner.

Linda Buzard will present the recital.  She is the Organist/Choirmaster at the Episcopal Chapel of St. John the Divine in Champaign, IL.   She earned degrees in organ from the University of Illinois and Northwestern University. At the Chapel Linda founded a choristers training program affiliated with the Royal School of Church Music in America. Currently she is the national Exam Administrator of the RSCMA and is validated as an examiner at the Bronze, Silver and Gold levels. Linda also serves on the Editorial Board for the Association of Anglican Musicians. Locally, Linda is on the Board of the Baroque Artists of Champaign, and on the Executive Committee of the Eastern Illinois Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. She is also an active member of the Tuesday Morning Musical Club and the Alumni Chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon, a professional music fraternity.
