The
Reverend John A.M. Guernsey
The Reverend John A. M. Guernsey, Rector of All Saints’, Woodbridge, VA,
will be the featured speaker at the 25th Annual Pausing for
Prayer event on February 17, 2007, at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul,
Springfield. Fr. Guernsey’s church has a concentrated prayer ministry
and there is continuous prayer in the church twenty-four hours a day.
His comments on supporting the church by prayer will certainly be
beneficial for all of us in our own parishes.
Fr. Guernsey, a graduate of Yale University
(B.A.) and Episcopal Divinity School, was ordained priest in 1979. He
was Deputy to the General Convention (1995-2000), Chair of the General
Convention Committee on Evangelism, and Chair of the Standing Commission
on Mission and Evangelism and is Chairman of the Board of SOMA-USA. He
has been a presenter at the Anglican Fellowship of Prayer Conferences.
He and his wife Margaret have two children,
Nathaniel and Michael.
Everyone is invited to help celebrate the
Diocesan’s Prayer Fellowship’s twenty-five years of ministry to the
Diocese.
Registration for the event will begin at
8:45 a.m. Coffee and donuts will be provided. Lunch will also be
served. Participants may register by phone (217) 525-1876, e-mail to
diocese@episcopalspringfield.org or mail the form below for delivery
by February 9th. Spending the day with members of our
diocesan family and Fr. Guernsey will be a wonderful way to begin your
Lenten journey for 2007.
Faithfully,
