The Obituary of

 

THE REVEREND ROBIN PILANT CONA, DEACON

 

 

The Reverend Robin Pilant Cona, 68, of Springfield, Illinois, died Monday, July 5, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center.

 

Born February 5, 1936, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Robert and Lolo Hammond Pilant, she married Joseph A. Cona in 1960 in Kansas City; he died in 1995.

 

The Reverend Cona earned a Juris Doctorate at University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1978 and a Master of Divinity at Seabury-Western Theological Seminary in 2001. She worked as an attorney and as a deacon.

 

She was a member of the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Springfield, the Illinois Bar Association, Mensa and Pi Beta Phi. She served as Chairman of the American Cancer Society and Director of the Noble Animal Shelter.

 

Deacon Cona is survived by four sons, Joseph (wife, Diane) Cona of St. Louis; John (wife, Kim) Cona of Monument, Colorado; Thomas (wife, Kelly) Cona of Athens, Georgia; and James Cona of Silverthorne, Colorado; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 

Friends may call at Vancil Memorial Funeral Chapel, Springfield, Illinois from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2004. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday July 8, 2004 at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul. Burial will be held at a later date following cremation.
