The 127th Diocesan Synod
(Convention) of the Episcopal Diocese of Springfield will be held from Friday,
October 1 through Saturday, October 2, 2004. It is being hosted by Christ the
King Episcopal Church, Normal, Illinois. Business sessions will take place at
the Holiday Inn and Conference Center, 8 Trader’s Circle, Normal, Illinois.
The Bishop, The Right Reverend
Peter H. Beckwith, Members of the Clergy and Lay Delegates and Guests will
gather over the two day period to share in the business of the Church in the
Diocese and the Episcopal Church.
The
Evensong will be held on the Friday evening at Holiday Inn and Conference Center
followed by Social Hour and a Synod Banquet. The Synod Eucharist will be held on
the Saturday morning.
Bishop Beckwith will deliver his Synod Address outlining the diocese’s
ministries during the past year, its’ vision and goals ahead, and the Church in
general.
