TO THE CLERGY AND
CONGREGATIONS OF
THE EPISCOPAL DIOCESE OF
SPRINGFIELD
BISHOP AND COUNCIL BACK
PROJECT IN
COMPANION DIOCESE OF
BARBADOS
The March ‘04 issue of
The Springfield Current has a wonderful article about a project the
Diocese of Springfield is undertaking with our Companion Diocese of
Barbados. We have committed ourselves to assist in the refurbishment of
St. Mary's Home, Bridgetown. Details and cost projections appear in the
article. To date we have raised about $7000—or about 10% of the goal.
At its meeting on February
28, Diocesan Council passed a resolution asking parishes and missions to
designate one Sunday during Lent as a day of special offering toward this
project. I am pleased to commend this to your prayerful consideration and
response. Your enthusiastic support is critically important and will be
much appreciated.
In addition, we hope parishes, missions,
diocesan and parish organizations and individuals will identify and adopt
particular elements of the project they would like to sponsor and,
therefore, fund. Please contact Fr. Anthony Holder at
frtony@stmichaelsofallon.org
as you choose to make your specific commitments.
If you have any questions
or concerns about this or any other matter, please do not hesitate to
contact me.
Pax Christi,
The Rt. Rev. Peter H.
Beckwith
Bishop
